LinkedIn Profile PDF: The New Resume Standard?

by SocialPMChick

The PDF download, in my mind, is a great foundation for a resume. Why would you spend hours writing one and formatting it, when LinkedIn now offers this up? I can see areas on my profile now (by having looked at my downloaded profile), where I might want to beef up some of my information and experience. The other piece about this that is really cool is that it includes all of your recommendations.

Confessions of a Social Media Manager for 2012.

by SocialPMChick

I confess – I’ve been too “digital” – up until now. I’ve been thinking a lot this year about how I will do social media differently. How will I do social media differently in 2012? That is such a loaded question. What I’m realizing matters most, is the value I place on relationships. On quality – not quantity. I think many of us, as we jumped on the social bandwagon in the last several years have looked at numbers.

How many Twitter followers can I amass?
What’s the size of my network on LinkedIn?
How many people want to be my friend on Facebook?

Each employee of your organization should be considered a touch-point into your products and services. I would suggest that even your receptionist should have an optimized LinkedIn profile that represents your company’s core messaging.

LinkedIn: Check Your Self Employed Info

by SocialPMChick

A co-worker asked me today about a strange link on my LinkedIn profile.  I had listed as a former position “Free Lance Web Development (at Self Employed)” to show the years I was home with my children, and the work I did during that time. LinkedIn requires you put a Company Name with each position [...]

What Makes MY Tweets Interesting?

by SocialPMChick

I recently attended a Social Media seminar hosted by a local Chamber of Commerce.  My goal for this first part in a 3 part series was to make sure I wasn’t missing the mark on any major social media networks I have been using.   By no means do I consider myself to be a [...]
