Wendy aka @SocialPMChick

I have embarked on a new chapter of my life and am the new Social Media & Marketing Manager at SIGMA Marketing Group in Rochester, NY.   In this new role, I am tasked with getting the organization up to speed on internal social media activities.

The SIGMA company blog launched just before I came on board.  It’s full of great content about marketing analytics, social CRM, digital marketing and other relevant marketing technology & strategic insights!  Check it out at http://fifthgearanalytics.com.

I find passion in all that I do, whether it be raising my 3 beautiful children, growing in my relationship with God, or making every chance encounter I have the best it can possibly be.

When I’m not knee deep in social media and work, you can usually find me at church, eating an artichoke, playing with my kids or watching NASCAR.  (Not typically done simultaneously.)   One of my dreams is to publish a coffee-table style Artichoke cook book.  In fact you can find me disguised as an artichoke on Facebook!

If I can inspire just one person today during my work day – my day was a success!

Hi Wendy,

I have read your recent posting on the Google site re no-use of meta tags. I too am of the opinion that they matter. At least a bit. I don’t understand why this is such a hype when it is not. Your posting stood out from the crowd so I wrote.

I also find it a bit inconsistent in reference to google web design guideline.

Thanks,
Walter

Walter,
Thanks for the comment. As I noted, I too will continue to use them in my internet marketing planning, however – I find that many folks place way too much emphasis on the weight they carry in search rank. They are just one small piece of the puzzle. That article from Matt Cutts just confirmed what we already knew.

Have a great day!
